Who can use OVID? OVID is free for all members of the Oregon wine industry, however, the tools are most useful for vineyard managers and winemakers.
How do I join OVID? Registration is free to anyone in Oregon’s grape and wine industry. Complete the required registration information on this page and click Submit. Your registration will have to be approved by the OVID administrator. This process takes 1-2 business days. If you have any questions about your registration, please send an email to info@ovd.us.
How do I enter my information into OVID? There are instructions posted on each page of the Growers Home. You can also click here for a quick overview.
Can other vineyard managers see my data? Although OVID was designed so that data can be shared, it is not shared without permission from the data owner. The only people who can see your vineyard data are the ones that you have granted access to. You can grant access to all of your data or only specific portions.
How do I get access to data from another vineyard? Access must be granted by the data owner. You can request access by contacting the data owner and requested permission to view their data.
How do I grant access to my vineyard data? After logging in to OVID, go to the Growers Homepage. At the bottom, you’ll find a section called Access to Vineyard. This is where you can grant new access to your data and manage permissions that you’ve already granted.
How do I file my PURS report? As of January 1, 2007, it is mandatory to file a Pesticide Usage Report to the Oregon Department of Agriculture for any pesticides used. By completing the Spray Events Details section in OVID, you have all the information necessary to file the report. Once you’ve entered your Spray Event information, you can create an XML file from the Growers Home Page by clicking on Generate an ODA Report.
To file the report, go to the ODA website, register and then follow the instructions.
Who do I contact if I have additional questions? Please send an email to info@ovd.us or call the Oregon Wine Board at 503-228-8336.
